Bike to Work Week gets pedaling on Sunday, May 13, and Fayetteville Mayor Lioneld Jordan got a jump start on events Friday.

Mayor Jordan read the 2012 Bike to Work Week Proclamation in front of the Fayetteville Town Center, then joined a group bike ride from the downtown square to Mellow Mushroom off Joyce Boulevard.

There are many reasons to jump on your bike and join the fun this week. Not only could it save you some money at the gas pump, it could even bring out your inner kid.

Laura Kelly, Chair of the Bicycle Coalition of the Ozarks says, "[You] Can have that joy and happiness and freedom and excitement again and money in your pocket."
