What might sound like noise to you and me is music to the ears of builders in northwest Arkansas.

"It's a great feeling. It's a good sound," Nick Fisher said.

Fisher and his father have been building homes and their business, Dream Structures, for over 20 years. Fisher has seen good times and bad.

"There's been a lot of growth," he said. "Had some boom years where a lot of growth happened. There's been several years that have been kind of slow."

Kind of slow is an understatement. When the bubble burst, builders were nailed to the wall and construction was cut considerably.

In 2005, the city of Rogers issued over 1,000 single family residential structure permits.  Just three years later, that number was cut down to just over 200.

But building is back. The Sanders family is in the process of constructing a new home.

"We're really excited about building a house," Lyndsey Sanders said. "It's out first house together and we couldn't be happier."

So, what does the building boom mean for you? Interest rates have seldom been lower. More homes are selling in northwest Arkansas. If you are in the market to build or buy, experts say now is a good time while you can still get more bang for your buck.
