Northwest Arkansas Community College will now serve more students through the Upward Bound program--with the help of a $250,000 grant.

The Upward Bound program prepares first generation low income students from 9th grade through high school for a college education.

The grant will be awarded for the next five years, totaling 1.25 million dollars. That amount will increase the number of students they can help from 52 to 55.

Currently, the NWACC Upward Bound program serves schools in Rogers, Springdale, Gravette, Decatur and Gentry.
