Chesapeake Energy Corporation bought 23 acres on the corner of Highways 36 North and 310, where the headquarters will be located.
Chesapeake will invest $1.5 million in the new facility, which will employ 30 people with an payroll of approximately $1.2 million.
Chesapeake received an economic infrastructure grant for $65,000 from the Arkansas Department of Economic Development, and White County contributed $25,000 for the project.
Chesapeake Energy is the most active driller of new wells in the country and one of the leading consolidators of onshore U.S. natural gas assets.
The company`s main headquarters are in Oklahoma City. Its operations include exploratory and developmental drilling - as well as corporate and property acquisitions - in the Mid-Continent, Permian Basin, South Texas, Texas Gulf Coast, Barnett Shale, Ark-La-Tex and Appalachian Basin regions of the U.S.
