Folks can get a cool kitty for the hot Memorial Day Weekend.

The Fayetteville Animal Shelter is running an adoption special on all available cats and kittens.  Program Administrator Joni Mosher says this time of year, the shelter is overrun with homeless animals, "We currently have over sixty available cats and kittens and we seem to be getting more in every day."

So on Friday and Saturday, May 26 and 27, you can come to the Shelter and pick out a feline friend for the low price of ten dollars. The Shelter will spay or neuter the cats before sending them home as well as micro-chipping and vaccinating them.

"You won't find a better deal and you'll be saving life, which is so rewarding," said Mosher.

The Fayetteville Shelter is open Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  All city offices are closed on Monday in honor of Memorial Day.  The Shelter is located at 1640 South Armstrong Avenue in Fayetteville.  All cats and kittens will be adopted on a first come, first serve basis.
