It's Storage Wars meets Star Wars. In the warehouse of Acumen Brands in Fayetteville, robots do a lot of the heavy lifting for the company. The CEO became fascinated by these drones while watching a documentary a few years ago.

"The robots are great," John James, Acumen Brands CEO said. "We found these, actually saw them in 2007 on the History Channel. I was watching it over Christmas break and said, 'I've got to have these."

Acumen is an e-commerce business that sells everything from down and dirty western wear to clean and pressed scrubs.  Before the robots, employees had to hand-pick items from hundreds of shelves.

James said, "They'd walk eight miles a day and climb up the sides of shelves like monkeys and pulling things off. It was crazy."

Once the robot brings the items to the front of the warehouse they are boxed up and shipped out.

It's just a part of what makes Acumen a different kind of place to work. Their human employees don't complain and neither do their androids.

Acumen Brands opens its warehouse to the public on the first Thursday of every month. Customers can purchase items for 50% off.
