"To the left! To the right! Push your trolley down the aisle!
Cause we're happy to help!" Wal-mart employees from Britain chanted slogans,
"We're rolling prices back!" And blew their horns outside Pomphret Hall at the University of Arkansas.
"I do not think I would ever be able to afford to get here. So for a company to do something like that it is amazing," said one Shareholder. It is all for Shareholders week where Walmart picks up the tab for a trip to Arkansas.
"Together! The best you've seen," they chanted. In order to pay back their workers one of whom is Mick Goodall staying at Pomphret Hall. "It is clean it is tidy it is accommodating," said Goodall.
Goodall manages a Walmart store in Britain and hopes to learn a lot from shareholders week. "We like your Sams Club. Your Sams club you have here. We do not have that in the UK. So we will be putting that forward to our guys and say you know we are certain there is a market there," said Goodall.
And in addition to knowledge he hopes to take some goodwill back to Britain. "And we are all going back with some real positives. "We are geared up to be talking to all our teams," said Goodall.
Friday is shareholders last day. There are meetings scheduled Friday morning, lunch at the School of Continuing Education and then an analysts meeting at 2:15 before the shareholders from overseas head back to their home countries.
