Many feel like crime is on the rise in Northwest Arkansas, but Sergeant Craig Stout with the Fayetteville Police Department said it is hard to tell.

Stout said to determine if crime is actually on the rise, you have to look at trends over a period of time. So in the last few months there may have been a temporary spike, but it might drop back down again.

Whatever the case may be, the number of shootings in the last few months is staggering.

March 5 -- a shooting near Old Missouri Road in Fayetteville neighborhood, one man taken to the hospital.
March 12 -- road rage in Springdale, one man taken to the hospital.
March 18 -- shooting at Zabana night club in Springdale, two arrested.
March 25 -- standoff with shots fired in Fayetteville, one officer taken to the hospital.
April 1 -- shooting at Kirksey Middle School parking lot in Rogers, one arrested.
May 25 -- shooting at Curtis Avenue and Fairlane Street in Fayetteville, one man taken to the hospital, one arrested.
May 28 -- shooting in Rogers, three men taken to the hospital, two arrested.
May 30 -- second shooting at Curtis and Fairlane in Fayetteville, two arrested.

Also, this list does not include the officer-involved shootings in Rogers, Farmington and Lincoln.
