The week of Walmart came to close Friday morning.

Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville played host to the annual Walmart Shareholders' Meeting.  Tens of thousand of people flocked to the University of Arkansas campus for the early morning meeting.

As expected, the retail giant did things big, bringing in a number of notable names.

Superstar Justin Timberlake hosted the meeting.  Musical acts ranged from country stars, The Zac Brown Band and Taylor Swift, to musical legends, Lionel Richie and Celine Dion.

Joaquin Siffrede came to the meeting from Argentina, he talked about the show, "It was an amazing show.  It was more than I expected."

Los Angeles native Venanzi Luna said, "It was just amazing.  LIke just the impact and all the artist that were here and everything, it was so beautiful."

The meeting was more than just music, Walmart leaders also talked about business.

Chief Executive Officer Mike Duke said, "Its not enough just to keep up, we have to stay out in front."

Staying ahead is something Walmart has been able to do.  Over the last half century the 'Retail Giant' has 5 trillion dollars in sales, and every day 1 billion dollars is sold, but at Friday's meeting the focus was on using the past for the future.

Duke added, "The values that built Walmart, and defined Walmart, and sustained Walmart for the past 50 years will drive our success and make us proud for the next 50 years."

"So I believe Sam Walton's greatest legacy was the foundation that he built."

Walmart founder Sam Walton's son, Rob, used one of his dad's old sayings in urging the crowd to look ahead, "And today as we stand on the edge of a new retail era, we've still only just begun to help people save money and live better."
