Sandwiched between two dorms, this bed full of basil, broccoli, and bell peppers is a little different than most.

The community garden is giving back half of its produce to the U of A food pantry. "You go to the food pantry and they really don't have fresh produce. They don't have heads of broccoli or peppers or cucumbers, " she said.

Emmy added that she is excited to have fresh produce available for those who use the pantry. This isn't just a school project for Emmy, but a way of life. "You have to think globally but act locally."

The other half of the produce will go to those who worked on the garden.
