The Tale Of Emry And The Hummingbird Foundation

Little Emry is walking, talking and doing just fine, but 14 months ago, doctors questioned if she would even make it 14 hours.
Emry Walker was born 11 weeks early after some complications during pregnancy. She only weighed 1 pound, 3 ounces.
"When you have the best of the best in Little Rock telling you to just prepare yourself. It's not going to be a good outcome," Jeff Walker said. "Then they do the c-section and they're telling you, 'I can't believe this but your baby is healthy."
The Walkers believe all babies are miracles but there is something different about Emry.
Jeff collected his thoughts on paper and wrote a letter to no one in particular. In that letter Jeff compared Emry to a hummingbird. Scientifically, hummingbirds aren't supposed to fly. And, according to doctors, Emry wasn't supposed to do a lot of things. But she was.
When the Walkers were out of the woods, they created the Hummingbird Foundation. A non-profit designed to raise awareness and funds for preemies and their families.
They want other families to know, no matter what doctors say, some things just can't be explained.
