Bikes, Blues and Barbeque kicked off Wednesday and thousands of bikers headed to Northwest Arkansas to have a good time.
But before the event even started this morning, a couple of local bikers were involved in accidents.
Both the Arkansas State Police and Fayetteville police responded to the accidents.
ASP says a truck and motorcycle wrecked in the median on Hwy 540 and 112. The biker was taken to Washington Regional with head lacerations. Police say the biker wasnt wearing a helmet.
The second accident was at the intersection of Mission and Starr. This biker didnt have a helmet on either. Police say the rider suffered a fractured leg and will undergo surgery.
There is no law in Arkansas that requires motorcyclists wear helmets.
