Dr. Missy Clifton

Dermatologist Dr. Missy Clifton says she's always known she wanted to work in medicine.

Her path lead her to medical school  in Little Rock where she graduated first in her class.

Clifton says, "I was definitely not the smartest person in my class, but I did work really really hard and I studied a lot." Her husband, Jeff, says the mother of three is a woman of both compassion and vision. He also describes her as driven.

Clifton now owns and operates Premiere Dermatology and Skin Renal Center, she says, "It seems a little bit surreal because it just sort of happened. I was like okay well I have to do this, this is what's going to be the next phase, but looking back on it and all the people in Northwest Arkansas that have come to see us and trusted us with their health, I'm a little bit blown away by it for sure." In all of her success, she has never forgotten what it means to give back to her community working with numerous charities. "My dad died from cardiovascular disease very very young in life.  He was 64-years-old, which is way to early to loose your dad.   So the Heart Association is very important to us and I think dad is smiling down on some of that charity work we do and pretty proud of us," says Clifton.

Humble but focused, Dr. Clifton says to always remember if you have a passion for something, and are willing to work hard, you can do almost anything. Her friends and family say Clifton herself is living proof.
