The campaign to make Benton County Wet has received another large donation from two Walton heirs.

According to a report filed with the Arkansas Ethics Commission Thursday, Steuart and Tom Walton have each donated another $25,000 to Keep Dollars in Benton County. The group is trying to get the issue of alcohol sales on the ballot in the Nov. 6 election.

The financial report, which covers the month of May, shows that the two Waltons were the only contributors to the group during that time. Of the $380,000 they've collected so far, $330,000 have come from Tom and Steuart Walton.

The report also shows two expenditures in the month of May totaling $58,921.52  to National Ballot Access. The Lawrenceville, GA organization is in charge of gathering signatures for Keep Dollars in Benton County.

The group needs to collect about 40,000 registered voters' signatures by August and submit them to the Benton County Clerk's Office to get the issue on the ballot. When asked Friday, they would not comment on the number of signatures collected so far.
