A single postcard in the mail, telling folks to vote no on the millage election, is causing a frenzy. Bentonville school board member Travis Riggs said the postcard isn't right. "They're taking numbers that the district has put together and sharing that information out of context," Riggs said. Riggs is also a Bentonville HIgh School parent and he thinks there are specific issues where this flyer is innaccurate. "The postcard referenced that our cost per construction is $235 a square foot. That's absolutely incorrect. Our construciton is $160 a square foot."
Amber Morey is against the millage increase and said the man who created the flyers isn't wrong. "I think it gives a lot of important information and I know Steve Carter and Michelle Carter are the ones who did the postcards. They've done their research and they're very accurate with their information." Morey also said she doesn't know what inaccurate information the school board is talking about.
Riggs said he doesn't think all the numbers are wrong, or all correct, they're just not comparing apples to apples.
