OMNI Center for Peace | Justice | Ecology

Updated: June 20, 2012
The OMNI Center is a vibrant group of people in Northwest Arkansas who hold a vision for a culture of peace in an earth restored. We're taking pragmatic steps toward justice, equality, open communication, meaningful networks and a healthy earth as we work on many different activities and programs together. That's an important part of what we look for in the culture of peace. There's a place for you here. Our youth group is "Teen Leadership Corps," who are organizing the Fayetteville component of a large, national project called Summer of Solutions. We also have student groups at the University of Arkansas and Northwest Arkansas Community College (NWACC), and there's a children's activity circle called "Earth Scouts". OMNI volunteers organize many projects and activities that can include you. Events like the annual Peace and Justice Heroes Awards Banquet, Hiroshima-Nagasaki Commemoration, or others that range from simple to elaborate, can all use volunteers. The "Women Empowered Connection" (WE Connection) does community services and outreach to women. Book Forums address some of the most burning issues of our day. Discussion groups like the "100-Year Plan for World Peace" group meet to consider long-range plans for a true culture of peace. An active committee works to maintain OMNI's home. And the Peace Builders are developing a plan for education, empowerment and leadership development, which are at the core of what we see as OMNI's mission. We believe that we're all in this together, and that includes you. Upcoming events are listed here, and we hope you'll find something you want to attend. The work of committees and projects will also be detailed here. Please explore this new website to see how you can take part. There's a place for you in the culture of peace. We hope you'll join us.
