Something To Blog About: What to do on the Fourth?

By: Kelly Stamps
Updated: July 3, 2012
Although the dry conditions and burn bans may keep you from doing fireworks in your own backyard - there are still so many things to do on the fourth with your friends and family.  Here are a few suggestions:

Attend one of the many fireworks displays in the area - here are just a few going one:

Bella Vista - at Loch Lomond Dam on July 3rd at 9
Rogers - at Veteran's Park on July 3rd at 9
Fayetteville - at the Fayetteville Mall on July 4th at 9:15
Bentonville - at Orchards Park on July 4th at 9:30
Springdale - at the Naturals Ball field - Fourth on the Field - Music and Fireworks on July 4th

It's always fun to host a cookout with friends and make all American hamburgers or hotdogs or BBQ and lots of desserts.

Go to the Movies

Stay home and watch a 4th of July themed Movie: "Independence Day", "Born on the 4th of July", or "The Patriot".

Watch Fireworks on TV - they will show fireworks often from NYC or Boston.

Go to a swimming pool or play at home in the sprinklers or a slip and slide

Organize your own "Olympics" in your backyard for kids or adults!

Eat snow cones

Whatever you choose to do - be safe and have fun! And Be thankful for our great nation and our freedom!
