Washington County Votes Yes to Volunteer Fire Dept. Dues

Washington County is holding three special elections Tuesday surrounding rural fire departments.
Folks living within coverage of the Round Mountain, Wedington and Wheeler Volunteer Fire Departments hit the polls Tuesday, July 10 and voted to allow the county to collect the dues required to receive fire department service.
This means the county will add the yearly dues to each resident's property tax statement. The dues of course are voluntary, and not a tax, but will appear on the property tax statement.
