Following a car crash that involved a local police chief, the insurance company says the car is a total loss.

Tuesday the city of Greenland confirmed that Chief Gary Ricker's brand new 2013 Chevy Explorer police vehicle has been totaled.  The police department is now waiting for an insurance check to purchase a new vehicle.

Last week, Chief Ricker was involved in a near head-on collision, when a driver said he fell asleep at the wheel.  No one was injured in accident.  The second driver in the accident was cited for driving left of center.  The Arkansas State Police were called to the scene to work the crash.
