Abstract Works Offer Inspiration for Art Class

Kids got ooey and gooey for an art class at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art Wednesday.
The museum hosts an art class each week using a different medium, from clay, to paint, to printmaking. Today's class used marbles dipped in paint, and fingers got a little messy.
The students start each class with a tour through the galleries, and teacher Whitney Johnston says it helps kids connect the museum's collection to the artwork they are about to create.
"I'm a visual person and I think kids are too," she says. "When they see these huge masters works I think it makes them want to try the same idea."
The classes continue throughout the summer, for a list you can visit the museum's website.
