Omar Suleiman
He announced Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak's resignation to the world and now Omar Suleiman will be laid to rest. The former vice president died at an American hospital according to state-run media. No word on the circumstances of his death or where exactly he was being treated. Suleiman ran in the recent presidential elections, but failed to garner enough votes to be listed on the ballot.
New Toy Story
Rumors of a possible "Toy Story 4" have been swarming the internet. In an interview with the BBC, Tom Hanks claimed that Disney/Pixar is currently working on the newest installment of the popular family series. No word yet on a release date.
Emmy Nominations
The competition is stiff for the 64th annual primetime Emmy awards. The nominees were announced early Thursday morning. Among the top shows nominated this year are AMC's "Breaking Bad" and "Mad Men" as well as HBO's new hit "Game of Thrones".
Chick-fil-A's Stance on Marriage
Fast-food chain Chick-fil-A's traditional stance on marriage is sparking controversy. Company president Dan Cathy discussed same-sex marriage Monday with Baptist press, stating that the restaurant solely supports "the biblical definition of the family unit." The comments have spread across the internet making it one of the top trending searches on Google. Chick-fil-A's Facebook and Twitter pages were filled with angry comments but the response wasn't all negative. Some argued the company had a right to stick by its principles. The company has openly supported christian values for years. In fact, the 1,600 stores in the chain stay closed on Sundays.
Batman is Back
It's the week Batman fans have been waiting for. "The Dark Knight Rises" is set to hit the big screen on Friday and fans are already snatching up tickets for the first viewings. The superhero flick stars Christian Bale, Michael cane and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman.
