By:
Updated: April 17, 2007
It took a jury a little less than 8 hours to find 21 year old Brandon Sanders guilty of first degree murder. He is found guilty of killing his girlfriend April love, last year. You could hear a mixture of cries and sighs of relief from April Loves family and friends when the judge announced the verdict. After the verdict was announced, the sentencing phase immediately began. April Love was a student at the University of Arkansas. Right before she was killed, she finished an internship on Capitol Hill. Aprils family said she had aspirations of going to law school. Aprils mother Magigore Love told the jury, "Having to refer to April in the past tense is very difficult. Not a day or hour goes by that I dont think about April." Crystal Love, Aprils youngest sister, told the jury, "April was my everything." The prosecution also told the jury Sanders is, "Not entitled to any more mercy than he showed her on September 11." It only took the jury a few hours to sentence Sanders to 25 years in prison. Brandon sanders will serve his time at the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
