Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe has declared state of emergency due to the severe drought in the Natural State.

That declaration was made Friday.

It temporarily allows special permits that make it easier to transport hay, so Beebe hopes it will help Arkansas ranchers whose feed supplies are running so critically low.

The state of emergency declaration lasts for 30 days, but may be extended.
