Police officers say Tonya Smith was attempting to order a copy of Morgan Nick's birth certificate from the Arkansas Department of Health. She was arrested by special agents for computer fraud after a week of interviews.
Morgan's mother Colleen Nick says that although she's relieved the woman has been caught the situation is frustrating.
"I'm really angry someone would try to steal Morgan's identity," says Colleen Nick. "I'm angry they would have the nerve to try to steal from her the one thing that she has left, and that's who she is."
Thanks to the high profile status of Morgan's case police were able to quickly flag the request and locate smith.
According to officials Smith is being held in the Pulaski County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
