FAYETTEVILLE--Razorback head football coach John L. Smith liked the fast start by the offense in a Saturday evening scrimmage in front of 15,000 fans at Razorback Stadium. He also liked the way the defense bounced back.

Senior Tyler Wilson finished the night with three touchdown passes. Sophomore Brandon Allen had four scoring strikes.

Defensively there were two interceptions and five pass break ups along with four sacks.

Surprising true freshman Jonathan Williams led all rushers with 126 yards on 18 carries.

Smith noted that the final portion of the scrimmage featured more of the running game in keeping with a standing philosophy of trying to pound the ball late in a game.

The head coach was also pleased with the way receiver Cobi Hamilton bounced back from what Hamilton believed was a substandard effort on his part the previous Saturday.

Smith noted that injured linebackers Tenarius Wright and Alonzo Highsmith should return to practice for the final week of camp. Safety Eric Bennett is also expected back.
