Fayetteville Youth Dental Program

In order to qualify for the program, students need to be enrolled either as a high school student in the NWACC Career and Technical courses or in the Fayetteville Public Schools or met the income guidelines used by the free lunch program. Further information is available by contacting the FYDP.
Students who are approved are scheduled for an exam and x-rays to determine what work may need to be done. NWACC students will be responsible for their own transportation. Transportation for Fayetteville students is provided through the school social work program. Parents are notified of appointments in the clinic as often as possible but sometimes changes in the schedule make this difficult. Students seen in clinic are given a take home letter to inform parents of the work done and any work needed. Students with ARKids coverage are assisted in receiving care through a providing doctor. Some appointments are scheduled in individual doctor's offices. For oral surgery services and some other services, parents are required to attend with the student. Most other appointments the parents are welcome but not required.
Students needing translation services are assisted by students in the dental assisting class who are bilingual. Services in the clinic are performed by area dentists volunteering their time and talent assisted by students enrolled in the Dental Assisting Program.
