Pride's the Only Thing Left to Play For

The 2012 Razorback football season has become a study of perseverance and motivation.

"I think it's a pride thing at this point," senior quarterback and team captain Tyler Wilson said Monday.  "Look yourself in the mirror and know that what you do out there on the field is the best of your ability and you're going to be prideful in doing that."

Clearly adjustments must be made, particularly on defense.  But there's a limit to how much the inexperienced players can mentally process.

"The change that you try to put in place, again, comes with what your guys can handle," head coach John L. Smith explained.  "We've tried to do that.  You've got to take note of who do we have playing and what can they handle.  Let's not put him in an unfair position."

Razorback fans aren't the only ones struggling to come up with a bright spot during this miserable 2012 season.  Even members of the team needed a moment to collect their thoughts when asked about what's positive on the field.

"That nobody's hung up their shoes," senior defensive tackle and team captain Alfred Davis said.  "It could be easy for some guys on this team right now to say 'Hey I'm a freshman.  I'll just wait til next year.'  But they're not doing that and we have a lot of football left to play."

The Hogs continue to believe even as the season gets more unbelievable each week.
