Provide a safe place of shelter and support to needy individuals striving to overcome obstacles to self sufficiency.
Mission Objectives

Serve as a temporary day shelter and resource agency for homeless families and individuals while they accumulate sufficient funds for rent and utility deposits
-
Coordinate and provide basic needs assistance while unemployed persons actively seek employment

Address the full spectrum of spiritual, physical and psychological needs of homeless clients in partnership with state and local government service agencies, area Churches, non-profit agencies, and the medical community

Obtain funding and resources for:

Emergency overnight shelter for the most vulnerable segment of the area homeless

Establishment of a multi-unit transitional housing facility

Genesis House provides the following services to the area homeless:

Safe day shelter for the homeless from the elements and other hazards

Shower and laundry facilities
-
Limited hot beverages and meals
-
Mail drop, telephone, and email message service

Referrals and counseling
-
Assistance in accessing the full range of available government and community non-profit agency resources (Child care, food, clothing, medical aid, crisis and anger management, substance abuse counseling, legal aid, and GED and literacy training

Enhance the quality and dignity of individual lives by helping to break the cycle of homelessness
