I'll Fly Away Foundation

The I'll Fly Away Foundation was 35 years in the making. Albert E Brumley dreamed of starting a music preservation and music education charitable foundation in 1976,but sadly he died before it came to light.

In 2011, Betsy Brumley, his granddaughter also wanted to begin a charitable organization to preserve our musical heritage. Growing up in the music industry had given Betsy a great insight as to how important the music of the past is to the fabric of America.

So she along with her husband decided to see if it was feasible. In Oct 2011 they came across a document that Albert had his attorneys draft in 1976. It was to form the Brumley Foundation. Once Betsy & Kevin found this paperwork, they knew they had to make this Foundation a reality.

So they got to work, decided to change the name to I'll Fly Away Foundation from Brumley Foundation to focus more on the music versus the family and the I'll Fly Away Foundation was born.

They found great support in the music industry and Duane Allen of the Oak Ridge Boys, Lizzy Long of the Little Roy and Lizzy Show, Sheri Clark of Sheri Clark Media and Hank Adam Locklin, the Tennessee Director of Music and Business Development all volunteered their time to help grow this organization. With like mined people, you can move mountains and that is exactly what the I'll Fly Away Foundation intends to do.
