According to school officials, the female Bentonville High School student was hit by the bus while crossing the street near the intersection of Southwest 14th and P Streets. It happened around 4:00 p.m.  It was a Bentonville school bus that was involved in the accident.

The student was taken to Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville then taken by helicopter to a hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Police said the girl's injuries are life-threatening.
