Nearly 30 veterans visited the Tyson headquarters on Monday to learn more about the company and interview for positions at the company.

They were greeted with cheers and applause as they entered the headquarters.

"We feel it is important to men and women within, who have served our military who have done a lot of service for our country and we want to give back," said Ryan Penner, recruiter for Tyson.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics said that more than 10,000 veterans were out of work as of August 2012.
