A Fayetteville woman attacked officers as they tried to arrest her for shoplifting baby clothes from Walmart, according to police.

LeCarol Williams, 20, was arrested Sunday on charges including second degree battery charge, endangering the welfare of a minor, attacking an officer and resisting arrest.

Police say they were shown surveillance video of Williams hiding the baby items under her own clothes while shopping at the Martin Luther King Boulevard store.  According to the report, her four-year-old was with her.

Williams admitted to police she stole the clothes but began fighting with officers and making threats when they tried to handcuff her, even digging her nails into one officer, said police. Officers said while taking her to the jail, she tried to kick an officer in the knees.

She was booked into the Washington County Detention Center on $5,000 bond.
