Camping For Tickets

By:
Updated: April 17, 2007
Many students are making sure they get to Atlanta by camping out all night in the cold, which seems to have become a hog tradition over the past few weeks. Tickets go on sale at 8:30 Monday morning and these hog fans don`t want to miss their chance to see the biggest game of the year. Kyle Stroud has a long night ahead of him. Stroud set up camp around three o`clock Sunday afternoon which placed him fourth in line for Atlanta tickets. And he`s brought the essentials, a space heater and sleeping bag to keep warm...and books to study for his test Monday. "I know I`m gonna get tickets tomorrow. They`re cheaper than anywhere else, they`re $35 so it`s worth it for me to come spend one night out here to go see the hogs in Atlanta." Stroud isn`t alone in his thinking...Several other students set up camp Sunday afternoon and settled in for a long night. "We don`t want the tickets to sell out before we get a chance to get one, I know there`s a lot of interest in this game and we don`t want to be left without a ticket," said student Steven McKee. Braving the cold doesn`t even seem to phase these fans anymore, after many camped out for the Tennessee game and College Game Day...for them it`s just a small sacrifice to see their team play ball. "It`ll be something we can tell our kids...that we sat out in the cold," said Megan Dunaway.
