Hog O Efficiently Eviscerates Kentucky

The Hogs needed just one play to get a lead on Kentucky.
"It was important for us to come out and show what we showed early for our morale going forward, for our confidence, for everybody in that lockerroom," senior quarterback Tyler Wilson said after the Hogs' weather-shortened 49-7 destruction of Kentucky Saturday.
True freshman Jonathan Williams introduced his versatility and play making skills with three catches for 150 yards and two long touchdowns, including 74 yard catch and run on Arkansas' first offensive play.
"It was big," Wilson said. "First play of the game. That's exactly how we drew it up."
"They had told Jonathan all week that he would be wide open on that play," senior running back Dennis Johnson revealed. "He ran it and he was wide open. He just had to do the rest which was making guys miss."
"He's got things that you don't teach," head coach John L. Smith described. "One of those things of being a great running back is having great vision. Great football players have that. You say, 'How did you see that?' 'I don't know. I just did.'"
"That's a new weapon and that's definitely something we'll continue to work on," offensive coordinator Paul Petrino added.
Williams starred early, but plenty of Razorbacks enjoyed their time in the spotlight.
"Tyler's night was good. Cobi's night was good. DJ's night was good. Everybody's night was good," John L. Smith said.
Coupled with a steady run game, Tyler Wilson spread the ball to ten different receivers en route to a five touchdown performance.
"He played real well," Petrino said. "He was sharp. Other guys made plays for him too. I was real happy. I was happy to see Tyler light it up and have a great game."
"It was just one of those night," Wilson described. "Seems like everyone was open and you hit them."
Despite the shortened game, Arkansas won the time of possession battle in every quarter thanks in part to converting eight of 11 third downs.
"We had been in a drought on third down," Johnson said. "We just came out in practicing days and we just focused on third down and it paid off for us in the game."
"As long as you can do that, you're going to continue to have a lot of success," Smith said.
