McLarty named to Union Pacific board

Thomas "Mack" McLarty, 60, has been appointed to the board of Union Pacific Corporation, of Omaha. McLarty is president of Kissinger McLarty Associates, a partnership with Dr. Henry Kissinger that provides advisory services to multinational companies. McLarty also is chairman of McLarty Cos., a fourth-generation family transportation business based in Little Rock. From 1992 through 1997, McLarty worked in several senior positions in the Clinton administration, including chief of staff, counselor to the president, and special envoy for the Americas. From 1983 through 1992, McLarty was chairman and CEO of Arkla Inc., a natural-gas company. Union Pacific`s railroad operation links 23 states in the western two-thirds of the country. The company also has other businesses in agricultural products as well as the automotive, chemicals, energy, industrial products and intermodal industries. (Copyright 2006 Newsroom Solutions, LLC)
