FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - University of Arkansas senior Chris Gragg was one of 26 tight ends named to the Mackey Award Midseason Watch List, which was released Monday.

Gragg is the Razorbacks' second-leading receiver with 19 receptions this season and is third on the team with 234 receiving yards, despite missing the last three games due to an injury. The Warren, Ark., native is averaging 12.3 yards per reception, 4.8 catches per game and 58.5 receiving yards per game in 2012. At the time of his injury, he ranked second in the NCAA among tight ends in receptions per game and receiving yards per game.

Gragg recorded the second 100-yard receiving game of his career in the season opener against Jacksonville State when he caught a team-high seven passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns. His two touchdown receptions were the most in the SEC in week one, and his seven receptions were the most by an SEC tight end in the season's opening week. Gragg also made seven catches for 83 yards the next week against ULM.

The Mackey Award is given annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end by the Nassau County Sports Commission. The award recipient is selected by vote of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee. The 2012 John Mackey winner will be presented live on Dec. 6, 2012 at The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show on ESPNU. The semifinalists will be announced on Nov. 12, and the announcement of the finalists will be the next week on Nov. 19.

Former Razorback D.J. Williams won the Mackey Award in 2010 to become the first Arkansas student-athlete to claim the award.
