Voting machines at the Benton County Clerk's Office are getting quite a workout for early voting.

County Clerk Tena O'Brien says an average of 3000 people have been casting early ballots each day since the process started last week, double the daily totals the county saw in 2008's general election.

Nearly 18,000 people already voted early by Monday morning, and the O'Brien believes people are extremely interested in the presidential race, as well as several state and local issues.

"There are six early voting locations," she says. "I think we just made it very convenient for folks who would like to get it over with early rather than waiting for election day."

Early voting continues through November 5th at 5 p.m. For a list of times and locations, visit this website.
