"Last two hours, it's picked up, very heavy winds that's one thing that I've noticed that's taken a drastic turn for the worse in terms of weather here in Brooklyn is the wind."
Farmington native Josh Teddleton is far from home, witnessing the scary scene in Brooklyn as superstorm Sandy makes landfall Monday.
"The trees are blowing from side to side," Teddleton says.  "You're seeing a lot of trees fall, a lot of branches fall."
He even describes seeing people unable to walk due to the high winds.
"It's that strong, you're hearing sometimes, glass shattering, you don't really know what is breaking, you're just hoping that no one was around it at the time."
Although he lives about half a mile outside the designated evacuation zone, Teddleton still made sure to prepare for the worst.
"The only thing I've really done for myself is to make sure I have food inside the house, I have water inside the house," Teddleton says.
"They're saying, you know, if you go out of power, prepare for 7 to 10 days without anything. That's why the emphasis by local authorities here have been get your supplies, make sure that you're planning ahead, be smart about this. Because we don't really know what we're getting in to."
And while communication signals may be a little spotty, Teddleton says he has been in contact with family back here in Northwest Arkansas.
"My parents who have obviously never lived through an event like this, have called several times to check up on me to make sure I'm alive, I'm kicking, I'm out of harm's way."
