There is a popular business that sits on The Fayetteville Square and has done so since 1960.

In this Women of Northwest Arkansas report KNWA'S Neile Jones introduces us to a woman who's kept a family dream and legacy alive.

Owner of Town and Country, Liz Fulton says she remembers when her mother opened the store on the square.

She says her mom was a trailblazer with a dream. Today Fulton continues her mother's tradition of service after buying the store from her in 1984 and moving to a slightly different location, still on the square.

Now, after more than 52 years in business The Town and Country Shop is still going strong. Liz credits hard work and dedication saying, "We've tried to just be really good listeners over the years, listening to what people need and helping to determine what's in fashion that year so that we can give really sound advice and help them be carefree about what they are wearing at those most important events and times in their lives."

Family friend Janie Seagraves-Ward has worked at the store off and on since she was 16. She says for her coming to work is a lot like coming home.

"We have a lot of friends that are customers and we have a lot of customers that are friends."

And both ladies believe the business is more of a partnership between Town and Country and its patrons. With a smile Fulton says, "We're always so grateful to the customers who have been truly patrons, who have been here year after year after year; I feel it's a wonderful compliment to us but we could't have done it without them."
