Kids at Oakdale Middle School strapped on drunk goggles and jumped behind the wheel of a golf cart to see how tough impaired driving can be.
The kids also ran the obstacle course while texting, and School Resource Officer Michael Elkins says it's important to get the information out before the kids actually get a driver's license.
"They've got a greater chance of not even starting it to begin with, unlike someone who begins to text and drive," Elkins says.
The officer says the kids were surprised by how difficult it was to drive in the goggles, and he hopes they remember the lesson when they hit the road.
