A former Hog football player is headed to drug court.

Maudrecus Humphrey was scheduled to face a circuit judge yesterday on burglary and theft charges, but according the the Prosecuting Attorney's office, the case has been transferred to Washington County Drug Court.

Humphrey and former football players Andrew Peterson and Marquel Wade were arrested May 12 on suspicion of residential burglary in dorm rooms.

Peterson and Wade each pleaded guilty to one count of residential burglary back in October and were sentenced to six months in the jail and five years probation.

If Humphrey completes the drug court's treatment program, he will avoid conviction on those charges, officials said.
