Setbacks to primary receiving targets Brandon Mitchell and Chris Gragg opened the door for players like freshman Alex Voelzke, a walk-on tight end, to impact the Razorbacks offensive attack.

"He has to (be apart of our gameplan)" offensive coordinator Paul Petrino says. "Just the situation I'm in and you know I'm embracing it and I love it," Voelzke adds.

The walk-on's new role on the team hit its peak against Ole Miss when the first reception of his career resulted in six points for the Razorbacks.

"I try to put myself in the right position to do the right things and get the opportunity to go in and do what I did. It was a check against one of their blitzes and Tyler put it right on him. You know you can't really help yourself the emption just comes out of you."

The impact of walk-ons in college football is often overlooked, but within their own team they are not under valued.

"You got to love guys like him, Morgan Linton, Brad Taylor those guys take a million reps in practice and they fight hard and thats who we have to lineup and play with," Paul Petrino said.

"You know all those guys are great and hard workers and thats why they can come to a place like this, and we're all just one team when we get out there together we're no different we get out there and get after it," Voelzke said.

Arkansas hosts Tulsa for homecoming Saturday, November 3rd at 11:21am.
