Numbers are still coming in from the Secretary of State's Office, but with 81.33-percent of county returns in, here are the numbers: 1,188,125 ballots have been counted out of 1,618,320 registered voters.
Checking the county returns, turnout appears to have been highest in Union County, where 90 to 100-percent of voters cast their ballots. Another 21 counties had voter turnout rates of 70 to 80-percent.
Clay, Craighead, Crittenden, Jackson, Phillips, Scott, St. Francis, and White counties
60 to 70-percent:
Arkansas, Benton, Calhoun, Chicot, Cleburne, Cross, Dallas, Desha, Drew, Faulkner, Fulton, Garland, Greene, Hempstead, Hot Spring, Howard, Independence, Jefferson, Johnson, Lafayette, Lawrence, Lincoln, Logan, Lonoke, Mississippi, Montgomery, Nevada, Ouachita, Perry, Pike, Poinsett, Pope, Pulaski, Randolph, Searcy, Sebastian, Sevier, Sharp, Washington, Woodruff, and Yell counties
70 to 80-percent:
Ashley, Baxter, Boone, Bradley, Carroll, Clark, Cleveland, Columbia, Conway, Franklin, Grant, Izard, Little River, Madison, Miller, Monroe, Polk, Prairie, Saline, Stone, and Van Buren counties
