- 52 Years old, career record of 115-33, 7-4 in bowl games.

- Currently head coach at TCU, a position he has held since the end of the 2000 season.

- Patterson has led the Horned Frogs to five conference championships, the Conference USA title in 2002 and four Mountain West Conference titles (including three consecutive from 2009 to 2011)

- Seven career bowl wins, including a victory in the 2011 Rose Bowl over Wisconsin. His 2010 team finished the season undefeated at 13-0 after the Rose Bowl win on New Year's Day 2011, and ranked second in the final tallying of both major polls.

- Patterson also took Texas Christian to a BCS bowl in 2009, losing to unbeaten Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl.
