Beebe Native Cody Belew Makes Top 12 on "The Voice"

Tense moments for singer Cody Belew after impressing the judges panel on "The Voice" Wednesday, the Beebe native's fate was up to America and his mentor, Cee Lo Green in Thursday's elimination round.

Cody wasn't among the top vote-getters on Team Cee Lo, so it was up to Mister Green to decide which singer to save, and move on and he chose Belew.

"I'm gonna pick on the grounds of the most improved. I gotta go with Cody," said the superstar singer and songwriter.

It was another exciting step for the singer's family back here in Arkansas as they watched the show as a family.

Cody was last to make it to the top 12 and his parents could barely breathe waiting for his name to be called, but when Cee Lo chose him last they could hardly contain their excitement.

They have been supporting Cody's dreams since he started making his rounds in the live music scene in Russellville while on college, then in Little Rock and on to Nashville.

His parents describe him as an incredibly hard worker and say they are so proud watching his hard work pay off in front of millions of viewers.

"To see your kid get a goal and hang on to it for that long and work as hard as he has, that's what I'm proud of," his mother said.

Cody's relatives have been taking turns flying out to LA to support him during the live shows. His parents are flying out Sunday to support him in the next round.
