A Fayetteville woman was arrested Monday in connection to a hit and run car accident that happened in early November.

Erin Maglothin, 31, faces charges of first degree battery and leaving the scene of an injury accident after she was arrested by Fayetteville police on unrelated charges.

On November 3, around 9 in the morning, Washington County Sheriff's Office received a report that a pedestrian was hit on Highway 112 north, just outside Fayetteville city limits.

During an interview, Maglothin admitted to being the driver of the car involved.  She said she has an addiction to pain pills and had fallen asleep at the time of the accident while driving.  According to reports, she said her vehicle hitting the pedestrian was what woke her.

Moglothin's car  was impounded last week by Fayetteville Police Department after responding to an unrelated call.  Police said, during a search of the car, they found evidence backing up Maglothin's confession.
