USA Metal Recycling applying to reopen a Benton County metal shredding plant.

The company moved its Siloam Springs operation to property on Old Highway 59 without applying for any permits, so the county judge issued a cease and desist order in October.

The recycling company agreed to stop operations, and applied for a large scale development permit on Tuesday.

Neighbors have complained about noise and air pollution, and plan to speak in opposition during the public comment part of the process.
