An unexpected restaurant is getting rave reviews.

"I love it, we don't have anything like this," Trish Houston, a Siloam Springs local said.

"This rivals any in Northwest Arkansas, without a doubt," David Glass, who frequents the restaurant said.

In a promising place; Downtown Siloam Springs.

"It's quaint, it's vibrant, it's up and coming it's getting revitalized, it's really starting to emerge as a great feeling and downtown," 28 Springs Executive Chef Miles James said.

28 Springs Restaurant is the second project from renown local chef Miles James.

"It took extreme passion and attention to detail to really make this restaurant come alive again," James said.

Previously Amelia's, 28 Springs was remodeled and rejuvenated to become this buzz worthy eatery in just 4 months. It serves about 250 people a day.

"This community requires that you really get into what is the essence of Siloam Springs and so to be successful in this restaurant market you have to understand your customer," James said.

James understands his customers from his 30 years experience working with the tastes of Northwest Arkansans. He began his career working at Fayetteville's Hugo's when he was only 14. Now he pays tribute to their famous burgers in his own restaurant.

"We wanted to create a burger here that was of that same type and following and quality," he said.

It's just one section of the menu but it's a favorite. The beef is ground in house and cooked over a fire-burning grill, then put between two freshly baked buns.

Too good to be true? There's more.

"The 28 Springs Steak Special is just unbelievable," Houston said.

"They have a Thai Pan Seared Steak salad that's just, it's phenomenal," Glass said.

It's not just the food that has folks from all over Northwest Arkansas coming to the restaurant.

"Besides the just tremendous food it's the atmosphere. It's fun, it's very vibrant, it's just what we need down here to anchor our part of the community," Houston said.

28 Springs is not what you would expect in Siloam Springs, but according to the locals, it's exactly what you want.
