Mr. Food Dies After Battle with Cancer

Television personality Mr. Food has died following a struggle with pancreatic cancer.

Art Ginsburg, better known by his over the top television chef persona passes away at his home in Weston, Florida, according to NBC News.  The cancer had gone into remission following early treatments and surgery, but returned earlier this month.  He was 81.

Mr. Food was a KNWA Today fixture for years, teaching us how to whip up meals and treats in his popular 90 second syndicated segments. He published 52 Mr. Food-related cookbooks, selling more than 8 million copies.

He made his television debut in 1975 in upstate New York on a local morning program. His Mr. Food vignettes were syndicated in nine television markets by 1980. His popularity peaked in 2007, when he was appearing on 168 stations.
