In this Pink Courage report Neile Jones introduces us to a woman thankful for a diagnosis that may have saved her life. Cara Hinkle says at 31-years-old she heard the news she had breast cancer and her only option was to fight. Hinkle says she went in for her annual exam when all of a sudden the visit with her physician became anything but routine. She remembers the moment her life changed saying, "He decided he was going to do the breast exam and stayed on the right breast for a little longer than i thought he should. And then he went to the left and kinda felt around over there and then went back and was like 'Have you felt that before?' And I went 'No. Sure didn't'."Hinkle would then go for a mammogram only to learn she needed to have a biopsy, And as she put two and two together she says she knew what was coming. She says, "I thought this is gonna suck. This is gonna suck i mean im 31- years-old why now."Dianosed with breast cancer, Hinkle did the only thing she could and started treatment. She had a lumpectomy, chemo, and finally radiation. Friends like Desiree Carrender describe her journey as nothing short of amazing, " She handled it beautifully. She had a strength that I don't think any of us really knew she had until we got there."

Hinkle says she knew all she could do was learn from the sitUation and move forward one day at a time. A lesson not wasted on her friends like Carrender who says it's important to know your body.
